When do I go

So, I'm going to quit my job.
That much is not in question – I will be quitting. The job does not fit me, leaves me too exhausted to do much else with my time, and one of the people in charge wants me gone, I'm pretty certain. Plus, I've got what I need out of the job – when I came to London, I had held no paying job not got via a friend of the family or being a placement where the money paid is to support, rather than fully recompense. I've now had four and a half months in a hard job, and passed my probation in it.
The question now, is when do I quit?
I'm currently waiting to hear back from a gaming store called Playin' Games (near the British Museum) whether I've got a job with them. I'd hoped to hear back today on that one, then I'd be quitting tommorrow if I got told today yes, or on Wednesday if it took me till tommorrow to find out yes or no – if I don't get the job I'll be jobsearching instead. I've now been told Thursday through Monday for it (they seem a little disorganised with their timing).
Originally, the plan was wait till today or tommorrow to find out about it, quit on Tuesday or Wednesday, regardless of the answer. The reason for waiting for the answer before quitting was so that I could quit into the new job, which I would somewhat prefer, plus it'd be nicer on my immediate supervisor. Now, it's going to be rather loonger till I find out, and due to various things, I'm rather less bothered by the 'nicer on the supervisor' part.
Therefore, the question is:
