ICQ and the annoyances of Trillian

Having just put Trillian onto my new laptop, since it;s annoying, it doesn;t get my ICQ friends.

So could anyone I chat to on ICQ send me a message so I can add you? If you feel like talking to and/or confusing me, send me a message too. ICQ number in my info (remember that, Mike?)

Screw you, hippy.

I'll send a message next time I'm on icq.

Unfortunately, I believe all ICQ clients do that - last i checked, ICQ didn't support server-side friends... :(

I thought that the contact list was stored server-side; if you install a copy of ICQ on another computer and use your number, you'll get your contact list and personal settings [ignore lists, etc. etc.] taken from the server.

I believe it's actually a problem with Trillian; it doesn't support certain features that the normal clients do.

I'll believe you if you say so Mark - when I said "last I checked" - I was referring to the time shortly after Trillian came out - many years ago... lol

But I don't think they're so much problems as "Things we missed out so that you might consider upgrading to the Pro version". It's just that the rest of the clients that the free version of Trillian supports do handle server-side friends, which made me make an ass out of u and me.

you'll ahev to wait a couple of weeks yet, as I can't remember my numbers even if I could be othered to download and install Trillian/ICQ on the home PC.
