The Twelve Scandals of Christmas

Omnomnom. I worry slightly that the cats are too cute; perhaps inviting people to emphasize with them

The word 'police' and the stuff sticking out of the phone were late additions to make it really obvious what those were

Well, I suppose they have to find something to do to fill all of the time they're supposed to be spending scrutinising legislationā¦

My favourite is the little Scottish fire raiser at the bottom.

Quite violent, this one.

SpAd = Special adviser, politically appointed civil servants who advise ministers

It does make you wonder why we're letting them get away with it. (sorry for the pun, I couldn't resist)

I hope you're pronouncing it in your head the right way. FIIIIIVVVEE OOOMMMNIIII SHAAAAMBLESS!

Ahh, vellum

Eeyore for World Dictator!

Behind the scenes note; the artist actually looked up the crests of Cameron and Clegg's schools, to get them right

Who's been a corrupt boy all year?
I think these are quite good.
Feeling a bit proud, as the original idea to do something about 'Twelve Scandals of Christmas' was mine (though obviously a lot of work went into it beyond that, throwing ideas in for possible things (thanks to #maelfroth for some suggestions), working out the logistics, et al.
They're amusing, and they get the idea over quite well; some are a simplification(which is part of why they're all links to our blogposts on each issue), but they make you think about the scandal in question. And they seem to have done well, given we've raised a goodly amount of money on the donation page associated with them.

Date: 2012-12-22 12:40 pm (UTC)The idea to do '12 scandals of Christmas' along the lines of the song was my idea, doing it with art and as a fundraising thing as well as blogging the subjects was various other peoples ideas, and the actual twelve things came from a bit of throwing in ideas beforehand (which I got some help with from friends on IRC), then about an hour or so of eight of us in the office throwing around ideas until we found twelve that stuck.
