When I was first reading it, I was a bit put off by the level of sexism/misogyny; when I thought it was someone writing as if the crew of the Enterprise were sending texts to each other.

Then I re-read the description of what the thing was, and thus was fine with it merely re-imageing the nasty things real people say.
