My phone recently got dropped into salty water, and as such isn't working very well (randomly losing its connection to its SIM, restarting, lacking backlight, etc).

Thus, phone is not, for the moment, a reliable means of contacting me.

Soaking my feet in said water (earlier on, not at the same time.

It's also claimed one of my mice (computer variety)

May I suggest lanyarding tech for future foot soaks?

The phone was sitting on the edge of a table (not needing to be with me at that point) and an alarm went off, causing it to vibrate off the edge.

The mouse is not of the bluetooth variety.

I've now changed chairs such that I'm now using one where I can slide the basin under the chair itself when I'm not actively soaking feet.

Plus I don't really use lanyarding.

If it'd done it two weeks later (when I get paid), it'd be a perfect excuse to buy a shiny new phone, whereas now I need to get by till then.

There's this fantabulous invention called string.

But I can appreciate it vibrating off the table - my colour change smarties mug recently danced off the washing machine onto the floor and broke.

More that I don't want it round my neck. It'd swing, and it'd be too heavy. Pocket or manbag works. And it doesn't need a lanyard to be findable; it's a phone, and I did regularly use my landline to find it.
