Any Android phone, and I like Samsung very much. I use mine as a Kindle a lot, as a web-browser a lot, for eBay a lot (the Android client is for somethings better than the web one) and for FB a lot. Even chat clients for various MMORPGs. Media player fine, photos fine.
And you can load up "Eclipse" and write your own apps if you know Java and learn the APIs.
Long battery life for a high-spec Android phone is, alas, not going to be easy to find.
You *may* find what you could use is a small Android tablet that you can put a 3G sim into rather than a phone.
