The rusty bottle opener of truth

I find it interesting how much victim blaming goes on in cases of internet security breach, particularly in this case how Honan has been blaming himself. Yes, of course there are things you can do to risk the likelihood of getting hacked or of losing data if you are, but that's a far cry from it becoming your fault if someone else acts immorally and illegally. If I didn't buy insurance or left my flat unlocked and got burgled I would curse my stupidity, but I would still blame the burgler.
