I think that this has been my favourite Maelstrom so far. Now I just need to make sure that the last one is even better.

The Bad:

- The Mud was annoying, especially earlier on. But liveably so.
- Wishing I had brought my big spiky lizard head.
- Not getting to properly see/interact properly with Gaia or the rocky ambassadors due to the characters headspace seeing no point in doing so. Not that disappointed because of all the other awesome stuff, but given how well they were done, would've been good to see more of 'em.

The Good

+ Still getting people saying nice things about my claws, so glad I bought 'em
++ Ranting and yelling "SEND ME ON!" (to at least some useful effect) whilst incapacitated and surrounded by invaders; that was one of those moments where the realisation that you're playing a game drops away, and you're totally in the headspace of the character.
+ Playing out the roleplaying effects of stuff affecting me without really realising I was doing so.
+ Being blamed for everything, to the extent that the other Native Eidolons were calling me 'Dark Lord Fanor' by the end of the event. People going around telling Natives to pray against me, to predictably opposite results
+ The effectiveness of the current batch of Native Eidolons
+ Once again discovering people that are terrified of Fanor when I'd had no idea they were.
+ Early morning hi-jinks
+ "Why?" "Four year old. Sledgehammer" ……… DOUBLE DOUBLE DOUBLE
++ In the Maelstrom, whilst the Old World Loyals were discussing various important things, and explaining stuff to people who needed to know it, a bundle of Native Loyals cackling in the corner about all the crazy stuff we've been doing, and people's reactions to it. "Are we the bad side? We're having far too much fun to be the good side" "We're the awesome side"
+ Going from my usual empty hand-in pouch to putting a dozen things in it.
+ Going from a name a bunch of people know (and only some of them able to easily spot me) to widescale warnings about me.
++ Getting to use an awesome new ability at the perfect time, and creating game for other people by doing so
+ Walking from the Native campfire to the bar, and hearing drums both from behind me, and drums from the bar in front.
++ Native percussion and supplications. Always awesome. Especially being an eidolon, and thus getting to see all the different religions ones.
+ The wind dancing (occasionally even moonwalking) to the drumbeat.
+ Supplications run by people I've not seen do it before; always nice to see new takes on things.
+ Discussions about magic revolving around sausages; "Tower of Blood and Sausage", giant piles of sausages to collapse on/suffocate enemies, using massed amounts of sausages to create new landmass…
+ Tim and Bryony — still triggering my 'oh gods, its the deadly huntressites' radar somewhat, but so nice having them on our side.
+++ "To them, the day Destrada visited their people(/family/tribe) was the most important day of their lives. To her, it was Thursday."
+ People recognising the Ventis/River Raven warpaint
+ "I'm not a badguy. I'm just a dick"
+++ Just as it became apparent that the mortals weren't going to start the hoped-for large battles, a bunch of us kicking off instead.
+ Searching for a physrep for setting a tent on fire, only to see its occupants walking towards us.
+ Chatting with someone I know from monstering Odyssey, being told about this IC great love story that a friend of hers was having, said friend turning up and being very embarrassed by it all, then being unable to not giggle every time I saw her for the rest of the event. And later finding out that the other side of the love story is someone I've known for years.
+ Semi-relatedly, [livejournal.com profile] endis_ni's Fez of Ill-Advised Marriage.
++++ Too many more things to mention

THE HORDE! (So great, they get their own section)
+++ A dozen or so LARPers, crowded into a sahara tent, all wordlessly screaming their lungs out at the end of a supplication. A friend told me we could be heard the other side of the field
++ "THE TIME IS NOW! THE END OF DAYS!"
++ An eager but very exacting explanation of Mantis from Conrad
++ He Who Shall Devour The Sun: Gruff. Aggressive. Feels like he's about 150% his actual size from the presence (and the shoulderpads)
++ This photo. (Alas, may not be viewable by all)
++ The procession from camp to bar, with drums and dancing and yelling.
++ Debating with myself "Do I really want to be screaming this?" in one supplication, and then going "Fuck it, yes I do!"
+++ Generally an awesome bunch of people roleplaying to the hilt whilst having a great time makes it very easy to join in and also have a great time with them.
