Recently I ordered the
complete everything ever of Babylon 5, and was looking forward to sitting down to watch it with

mapp (who half owns it due to me suggesting it as a way to pay off what I owed him from when my card was cancelled for half a week). When it arrived, having be prewarned by one of the reviews, I went through all of the DVDs inside to check they were the right ones.
They weren't. I had two copies of Crusade, and none of Season Two B5. I was all :(
I speak to amazon, they go "Send it back to us, we'll send you a new one at the same time, we'll repay you for sending it. If it's worth over £50, you should make sure it gets signed for."
I trundle down to my local post office, given the size and weight, plus the value of it, they reccomend a 2 day delivery thing that gets signed for, and insures the stuff. Given that if they don't get it back, Amazon will charge me for the item a second time, I agree this is a good idea, and pay the £12.50 for it.
I've just got an email from Amazon saying that they're going to pay me back the "FreeReplacementReturnShipping Refund: £1.24".
£1.24?!? There was no way I could ever send those DVDs back for that little, it's a chunky and solid box with about a hundred hours of video on 42 disks in 14 boxes. My guess is that £1.24 is what it would cost to return a single DVD in single box, as those can go in the 'thick envelope' size.
So, I'm planning to communicate to them that it cost me rather more than £1.24 to get the box back to them, so refund me the full postage you fucking fucks, but in a more polite, yet still reasonable forceful manner.
Having had not much experience in official complaints of this manner, I'm looking for advice from my friendslist – firstly on whether I should complain via phone or email, and secondly for general advice on the specifics of doing so, how to terms stuff, and so forth. All advice will be gratefully received.
