Lack of drunkness and new T shirt.
Apr. 3rd, 2004 04:29 amHmm. Went to local heavy/alternative club (to Exeter people, think a cross between Bunker and cavern). Reasonable night.
It's less good than it used to be - the place has gone somewhat more mainstream and got much more crowded (which is why of course they did it). They still have the heavy stuff, but whereas they used to play an occasional more mainstream song which people would then dance to, taking the piss (e.g. "Can't touch this" which is very good for that), then now play loads more. Plus you can hardly mosh on the dancefloor any more because of all the people just standing there talking.
I also had my usual experience with alcohol there - I drink loads and don't feel the effect of it. They serve really nice cocktails, my favorite being a black russian with 2 shots vodka & 2 shots tia maria filled up with coke to a pint glass. I start most fridays with a pair of them within the first half hour/hour, then drink a certain amount more through the night and yet never particularly feel the effects.
I left a bit early because my shoulder which I fucked up at the end of term started hurting badly enough that moshing would've aggravated it. I'm debating whether to go to a doctor/physiotherapist about it, cause it's still really bad quite some time after it happened. Bloody thing.
Oh, and since I've just noticed that I haven't explained the 2nd half of the title; I have a new T shirt, due to it being given away free in the bar and me catching it. It's for a beer I don't drink (i.e. any of them), but it looks quite nice, and its an extra T shirt which therefore extends the required time between remembering to wash my clothes.
Anyways, I'm now going to go to bed, having already buggered up my plan to realign my circadian rhythms to what they should be since it's 4AM now. Ah well.
Oh, and Pete, if you read this I've separated out my Southern Kingdom spares, and will bring them when I get back to Exeter in a few weeks (unless you feel like dropping into Hereford to pick them up.
