2. the guys have pretty much *no* physical skills save maybe * in brawl here or there.. given that you are a native then someone from the forces isnt too beyond the pale. maybe either a navvie or marine? i really wouldnt worry *too* much about it since the guys that are playing didnt really know what they were letting themselves in for when they genned their characters - ieb had never even played WoD/nWoD before, and lifeonsaturn was expecting to be turned into a vampire/awaken as a mage a long time ago.
if you have a character archetype that you use often, and a re comfortable with, then go with that.
